Hi all a friend was given a 2 week extension to get form back to Wolverhampton I asked would this be confirmed by text or letter lady on end of phone said neither is sent so need to take her word is this the norm.? also what is the safest way to get the form back to Wolverhampton? and does the provided envelope get used I ask because I have heard some contradictory answers to this question in general conversation to others. thanks in advance Trevor. I apologise if this subject has been covered before.
No, the DWP do not confirm an extension requested by the claimant, however, they can phone back to check that it has been noted on the computer.
If they can afford it then I would say the form back using a Tracked post so that they have proof of delivery, failing that they should ask for a Certificate of Posting from their local Post Office.
