MR refused now to appeal for PIP for autistic son

Hi everyone. Some of you helped me with my PIP application for my 23 year old son then the following MR. We heard on Saturday that the MR decision did not change the original decision, even with a lot of additional information. They are still basing this on the medical assessment and have not taken into account the evidence given disproving what was said at teh interview. This is not unexpected, but is upsetting none the less.
I now need to decided whether the stress of the appeal is worth it, although I feel the decision is very unfair and unjust.
I am looking for some advice on what helps with an appeal application? Does it help to go to CAB or speak to your local MP? Is it worth putting in a formal complaint about the assessor or is that just a waste of time?
I just want to know what best helps when submitting the appeal form and what you have found success with please.
As my son has high functioning autism they think he seems fine - however this is not going into the depths of the day to day stresses he faces. Any encouragement is greatly appreciated.
I am reading the appeal guide from the site. Many thanks.

Hi Ishbel Rose

Have a look at the thread below from Becca - who is one of the forum members. She had to go to appeal for her son - who has autism - which was successful. Have a look at the whole thread - because she quotes which caselaw she used to help win her case.

Thankyou for this. Has anybody put in a formal complaint about the assessor? Any other top tips for appeal? Is it worth seeing MP? Thanks so much for your help

Hi Ishbel

I think it is always worth involving your MP - because they need to know what goes on the benefits. Some have proven to be very helpful.

You can always search for PIP appeals and pick up tips from some of the other threads.
