Received PIP decision. As expected from copy of report claim DLA to PIP rejected. 2 points only for wearing hearing aids 0 Mobility. MR went in with additional current evidence, acknowledged by DWP by text 30/09/19. Letter from CAPITA Friday, PIP information pack ? I.e. initial letter warning of impending appointment for assessment. Assumed a mistake, contacted Capita. No DWP have requested 2nd assessment! With no prior warning or explanation. Contacted DWP today but call handler poor and could not offer a valid justification but guessed the decision maker has requested repeat. He also suggested Capita have requested the reassessment? I am stuck in the middle and loathe to attend again after a very poor experience first time with poorly prepared, inexperienced and untruthful paramedic. I have requested call back from decision maker... still waiting for reason and grounds for reassessment. Can the DWP enforce a second assessment?
If the DWP have made a Decision on your claim and no award has been made then they cannot force you to attend a new assessment but you do need to consider whether it would be to your advantage to do so.
We have seen the Assessment Providers trying to do a second assessment where the claimant has made a complaint but this is the first time I have heard of the DWP referring a claimant after a Decision has been made.
