My previous Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) Work Capability Assessment (WCA) was carried out by a registered physiotherapist. For those who don't know, they primarily help people affected by injury, illness or disability through movement and exercise.
As I am due another WCA at some point soon, and as somebody on the autistic spectrum it would be useful to know whether I have the ability to request from Maximus an assessor who has at least some experience in dealing with people who are autistic (i.e. a mental health nurse, psychologist, etc.).
With all due respect, I do not believe that a physiotherapist would be best placed or knowledgeable enough to judge how my condition affects me, and so I am keen for this not to happen again.
