Hello I am on ESA (based on my National Insurance Conribution). I am in the Support Group and receive the Disability Income Guarantee. Currently I am living on my own with my son with a view to my son's father moving in in the New Year. With regard to tax credits he would be considered my partner. I am wondering whether having a partner will affect my ESA. Many thanks, Millie
The Disability Income Guarantee means that you are receiving and Income Related ESA top-up to your Contribution Based ESA, this top-up may be affected by your partner moving in with you.
ESA(IR) is dependant on your household income, your savings and assets, and any hours that your partner works. See
