Supplementary payments was created by wing
I’ve just read that if you qualify for PIP and your award is less than your previous DLA award, you may get a supplementary award
for up to a year if you lose more than £10 up to 75 percent of the difference in benefit.
i.e. if difference is £20 you receive £15.

Also, if you don’t qualify for PIP after assessment and you were on DLA. and lodge an appeal, a supplemental payment may be provided equal to DLA until appeal hearing and a decision made.

Supplemental payments available until March 2020.

Does anyone know if this is still the case and has anybody got them?

This only applies if you are in Northern Ireland, is this the case?

Why does Northern Ireland have different rules, it seems unfair as we
are all in the UK.

Hi wing

Social security powers have been fully devolved to Northern Ireland since 1920.

The approach to social security devolution from the outset was to maintain parity with Great Britain. Some variation in policy and practice, however, has been developed over the years.

While social security legislation in Northern Ireland has largely mirrored the equivalent legislation for Britain, there was more substantial political disagreement over whether the 2012 Act should be implemented in Northern Ireland. A political impasse resulted in an agreement with the UK government to pass legislative consent to Westminster to enact the Welfare Reform (Northern Ireland) Order 2015, which replicates the 2012 Act with some variations.
