In reality - the answer to your question is no - because there have been huge variations for members in the time it has taken to process claims - so I can make a guess - but it might be completely inaccurate for someone.

1. Some people will be waiting at least another year before they receive their 'invite' to change from DLA to PIP
2. When the letter is received - there is four weeks from the date on the letter to ring up and take part in the process. (PIP1)
3. Once a claimant has rung - they will be sent the PIP2 form. This takes approximately 10 days to arrive.
4. Once the form is received a claimant has a month from the date on the letter to return the claim form. Claimants are allowed to have a two-week extension. Some people have reported having two extensions - though this is not standard practice.
5. When the form is received - a face to face assessment will be sent out. This happens within 10 - 14 days. (one member reported a four-month wait recently)
6. The assessment providers have to give 7 days notice - but many appointments are two weeks or even longer. It depends on the availability of assessors where claimant's live.
7. One the assessment takes place - within 48 hours a report is uploaded. (This sometimes takes longer). A claimant can ask for a copy of the report - it can take up to 10 days to arrive.
8. If a claimant disagrees with the report there is a small window to write to the decision-maker.
9. A standard text is usually sent out by the DWP to say they have all the information they need to make a decision.
10 The decision usually comes within a month of the face to face - but this can vary.
11. If a claimant doesn't like the report they put in for a Mandatory Reconsideration. A claimant has one month from the date on the decision letter to put one in.
12. From the time the MR is received by the DWP a decision normally comes out within one month.
13. If a claimant is not satisfied with the result of the MR - then one can put in for an appeal
14. Appeals are currently taking at least 42 weeks in most areas of the country - but some have waited a great deal longer.
