Having been to a Face to Face yesterday for PiPs after being on a life time award on DLA for schizophrenia, sever depression, heart disease, angina and arthritis it was a nightmare. My doctor said at the time I must have a home visit as explained by letter to them from him in which he explained the reasons ,my full diagnoses and twelve different types of medication stating I was not fit for work. They refused. Yesterday while there I had a real bad psychotic episode in which I had to be brought home during the assessment by my friend. The assessors agreed I should of had a home visit and it was the DWP who refused an home visit and not them. It as taken nearly twenty four hours to get stable again. Atos said they would contact the DWP so my DLA is not effected and they would advise a home visit . Not sure what to do now even if a complaint should be sent in.

The assessor may have believed that the decision to refuse a home assessment was made by the DWP but it would not have been, the DWP do not get involved unless the claimant has failed to attend, so the decision would have been made by the Assessment Provider.
Obviously, I don't know what else the DP letter said but arguments that you are not Fit for Work would not have influenced those assessing you, PIP is not a work related benefit so no account of this would have been taken.
