DLA to PIP was created by Sallyb
I am in the process of claiming PIP for the first time, at present I'm in receipt of High Care / low mobility elements of DLA.. This DO A award is due to terminate on 14th December.
All the paperwork outlining how my conditions affect me were received by DWP on 21st November. I have not heard anything back from DWP. It's looking likely that the assessment / decision making will not have been completed by 14th December, so what will happen then?
Am I going to find myself losing everything at least for a time? Or will they continue to pay me DLA until such a time as they have made a decision?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Sallyb
If you have already had a notification that the award end date is 14th December - it will stop on that date - but any PIP award should then be backdated.

Actually, the DLA award should be extended, usually by a year, if it looks like a Decision on your PIP claim is not going to be made in time.
