Hi peter, I work in a doctors surgery and I am aware that it can be a two week wait to pre-book an appointment with a doctor, However all doctors have a daily message section where they call patients normally between the hours of 11.30 and 2.30. I would suggest you call them back and ask to be put on today's messages for the Dr to call you back.
Hope that helps

Hi traceytracey,
Thank you for the info. I rang my doctors surgery yesterday and explained my situation about urgently needing to speak with my dr about getting him to write me a letter for the DWP. I was told that he'd give me a call at some point yesterday (he didn't ring) but left a message saying he'd write me a summery letter (whatever that is?) and that there'd be a £20 fee for a personal type letter. Anyway, I've now been told that he'll ring me today after his surgery which will probably be this evening after 18.30. So hopefully he will and I can tell him the trouble I'm having with the DWP, and how ill it is making me.

If you are paying for the letter then make sure that you understand what it will contain and that it meets your needs.

I'm learning fast how the DWP decision makers seem to work, so if I can get my doctor to write me a letter with a fee, i'll certainly be asking him to add the things that i stupidly didn't highlight when i had my recent assessment, which cost me my place in the support group.
