Advice regarding PIP Assessment was created by Paula Dalton
Hi,
I am looking for advice regarding my PIP assessment.
I have an assessment on 25th November '19 but my first Rheumatology appointment is on 26th November '19. should I change my PIP assessment appointment until after my Rheumatology appointment ? I have already sent them proof of my medical conditions which already has an impact on my daily living difficulties but I have also been referred to Rheumatology for further investigation. I am worried in case I cant sent any supporting evidence after the assessment .This is the first time I have claimed for anything like this so I'm not sure how it works. Any advice would be appreciated.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
You can but at best it will only push it back 2-3 weeks and you will have to attend the new appointment whenever and wherever it is arranged for or you risk your claim being closed.
You can send in additional evidence up to when the Decision is made, at the moment this could be as long as ten weeks from the date of the assessment.
Any letter or report from the consultation could easily take two weeks to be received and whilst it may detail your medical problems it is unlikely to address the PIP criteria unless the Consultant is willing to tailor it more to your benefit needs.
So, it's really up to you, there may be a benefit but you are also reducing your options for attending the assessment.
