Another ESA Capability For Work Questionnaire

I'm new here so apologise if someone has already posted about this. I've been receiving ESA since 2012 and I'm in the support group. I received a Capability For Work Questionnaire in March 2018 which I completed and my ESA continued without a face to face assessment. I've just received another Capability For Work Questionnaire and am surprised and worried that I'm being assessed again so quickly as that hasn't happened to me before. I just wanted to ask if this has happened to anyone else or if anyone might have an idea why I'm being assessed again so quickly? Many thanks.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

ESA awards can be reassessed at any time between three months and three years (for the SG), a shorter period usually indicates that there was an expectation at the last assessment that there would be a change in your limitations.

Please make sure that you use our ESA Claim guide to help you complete the form, see

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/esa1

and if you have further questions, please come back to the forum and we will do our best to help.

I've been meaning to follow up to the question I posted several months ago for some time and I just wanted to share that the reason I was asked to go to yet another assessment was because the DWP had not received the medical information they requested from my consultant. When I arrived at the assessment centre for my appointment I was told that the medical information they needed from my consultant had finally arrived (well past the date specified it was needed by) the day before so my assessment had been cancelled as the medical information provided everything that was needed. I was that relieved I burst into tears! I thought this was worth mentioning in case it happens to anyone else as the distress I went through at having to attend another assessment had a huge effect on my well being, and while I was extremely relieved that I didn't have to go through it, I was a tad frustrated that it could have been avoided if the medical information had just arrived in time, so it might be worth anyone in a similar situation checking that their doctor/consultant has actually provided the information that has been requested by the DWP.
