Can someone tell me if this is right. I claim UC for housing costs and new style esa obviously standard allowance on UC deducted because of this. I recently had esa health assessment and have been placed in support group. UC now deduct the extra money I receive for being in support group from my housing allowance meaning I now have to pay that out of my esa £40 a week so am expected to live off £73 because I am too ill to work. Yet old style esa get the extra money and full housing benefit how is this right ?
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
What they are doing is correct but you should also be receiving the LCWRA element as part of your UC, unfortunately the communication between the UC and ESA departments is completely manual so you need put an entry in your journal that you been placed in the Support Group and ask for the award to be transferred across to your UC claim. This should add £336.20 per month to your UC before the NS ESA is deducted.
