PIP was created by Maz
Good morning, I'm new to this site, and to be honest keep coming back trying to make sense of what I want to write about, but have decided to go ahead anyway. So here goes. I have applied for PIP and am now at the point where I am waiting for a Tribunal date, which I'm told will be about 32 - 38 weeks. I'm overwhelmed with how to get across to a tribunal any other way than how I filed my form in and the nil response I have from my face to face assessment. I know its going to be a long way off yet by the look of it, but I just can't imagine how I can prove at a tribunal or find the words to describe the despair, isolation, and loneliness I feel which impacts my life, I don't know how to describe it, to be understood. I just feel numb, to it all. Has anyone got any words of wisdom/experience they're happy to share helping me get through this treacle.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Maz
I'm sorry that you're struggling with this. The first thing you need to do is understand why you scored no points. I am assuming that you disagree with most of what was written, but it's not just a point of saying the assessor was wrong, you have got to show in the evidence you have already submitted or through any additional evidence, what they missed or where they were mistaken in their judgment and why you think you should have scored points. You need to ensure that you understand the PIP criteria and in your response make sure that you speak to the specific criteria. If you do not have a letter from your GP - see if you can get one. If you have any letters from Consultants about your condition then make sure you highlight them in your response. If you didn't include last time any evidence from friends or family - see if someone is willing to write a letter confirming the struggles you have.
You have plenty of time to get in your response - so try and chip away at it - a bit at a time.

Maz, have you tried or thought about keeping a diary of your thoughts and feelings, even if only for a week? Don't hold back, write down every thought that comes into your head even if you think it looks silly. This is your chance to make these people understand. Get as much evidence as you can from professionals and people that know you well.

That's what ill do, ill start by approaching the questions and try to put across a different view and back it up with some info from those who know me well.

Thank you Becky - I did do this once as a cancer healing process. I also found it helpful in that at times I thought I was exaggerating my behaviour, but when I look back at the emotions attached to my writing, it was all justified. I will get on the case and turn my focus to getting pen to paper again.
Thank you.
