Waiting for PIP Decision was created by David
I had my F2F on the 8 October. I had a message that they had all the info to make a decision. I have received no decision as yet. I am worried that the decision letter has been lost in the post. Should I ring DWP? I just read that something had their interview on the 23 October and has received a decision. As I am a transfer from DLA to PIP and I am of retirement age this is my only opportunity to get PIP with its mobility component. Thanks.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi David
The decision usually takes about four weeks from the date you received the standard text message about having all the information necessary to make a decision. If you are concerned you can always ring and ask what's the progress of your claim.

Thanks for the reply. I rung them and they said a decision had not be taken as yet. It would take seven or eight weeks from the assessment. They said it was scheduled for the final procedure or something similar. Is there any significance to the delay such as gone to a higher level of decision taker?

No, it is just how high the pile your file is in.

Do keep an eye on things: my caree's decision letter got lost in the post. We only found out about a month or so after she should have put in for an MR*, because I'd rung the DWP the previous month and they'd told me there was a backlog so it hadn't been dealt with yet, but in fact her decision had been issued the month prior to that and her DLA had been stopped. Lesson: don't automatically believe what the DWP tell you.
