Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Mamadoo
Home assessments vary, on the forum we hear of good home assessments and poor home assessments, if you have issues with mobility then travelling to an assessment centre goes against you and you are being set up to fail.
We do hear of some shocking decisions from both home assessments and assessment centres.
Other members on this forum will give you their opinion of home visits.

I had a home assessment for PIP. The assessor was a nurse. She was pleasant enough but she did throw a few leading questions into the assessment. The whole thing took an hour and I was more comfortable in my own home. She did not ask to look around my home.

Gary why is it that if you have mobility issues and you are given an appointment for a F2F at a centre its an indication we are being set up to fail

Hi Agnes999
Some members with mobility issues have found that the assessors have marked them down for mobility at assessment centres - saying they can walk further than they have put. For example, you may have to walk from the car park to centre, and then into the room where the assessment is taking place. So someone may have marked down that they can walk less than 20ms and the assessor says they have been observed walking more than 20metres. However, it doesn't mean the assessor never disagrees with people's mobility in their own home. Members have reported assessors saying they reached for things (when they didn't) had a strong grip (when they'd never been asked to demonstrate) or walked with no problems (when the person walked into the room without their prosthetic leg - and was limping). It's a lottery. There are some good assessors and some who are less so.
