Reporting a change while waiting PIP appeal date was created by katykora
Hi all
I have just been diagnosed with mild type 2 diabetes, diet controlled at the moment. I am waiting for an appeal date for a PIP tribunal.
Should I still report the change in health condition to DWP and is it likely to trigger a reassessment?
thank you

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Does the diagnosis mean that your limitations in completing the PIP activities have changed? If not, or more specifically you would not score any additional points, then there is no point your contacting the DWP.
If it does then write to the DWP office dealing with your claim but be aware that doing so will result in a new PIP2 and almost certainly a face to face assessment, the new Decision will limit any award made by your appeal panel.

Thanks Gordon,
Sorry been away from my PC and phone was playing up at letting me into the forum other than as a guest, hence failure to respond. Passwords grrr..
No the limitations are the same as I probably had the diabetes back then at the assessment just not confirmed. Thanks for the advice. I won't report it to DWP but may use it as evidence at my tribunal as it does reflect on my limitations at the time of my last assessment, the medical report of which was of a n abysmal standard and full of lies and half truths that were simply repeated in my long awaited MR decision. .
I am confident I can challenge the decision and have a representative working with me to prepare and I have used the guides here for my initial appeal points. So reasonably confident I am not risking being awarded a lower amount at appeal.
I need to talk about the issue of complaining to the DWP as I have recently had a fairly good response and outcome from Maximus about my complaint to them around the recent debacle of my no go WCA appointment. But that is for another day and a separate topic when it isn't 1:30am in the morning!
