Mandatory Reconsideration too late? was created by Carly
The day before I left to visit my sister (11th November) I phoned ip DWP to ask if there was a result on my f2f pip assessment which took place on September 3rd! I was told a decision of Zero Zero had been made on the 3rd of November! I'm due home on 4th December and realise it will now be probably too late to request a MR?
Disgusting how my paperwork never arrived at my home until November 19th (my neighbour kept a look out for post) yet even if I'd been home it would have barely given me a fortnight to respond.
Are they solid on the 4 week response rule would you know?
Thank you.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Carly
It is not too late for you to put in for a Mandatory Reconsideration. You will be putting in a late submission and you need to explain why. If your reason is accepted (which it should be with the dates you have said) - then it will go ahead.
Ring and request an MR explaining the situation and also put in the request in writing.

Hi Carly
It's usually one month from the date on the decision letter not from the date the decision was made, and yes you can do an out of time MR, you do have up to 13 months and I have done a few at 12 months, but you do have to have good cause such as mental health issues backed up with medical evidence.
