Assessment cancelled was created by mumsy
After waiting 16 weeks for an assessment, I had a home appointment today, for them to phone 20 minutes before arrival to cancel because assessor is off sick!
We took advise from this site to ring dwp to clarify that it was them not us, for delightful lady to say well they’ll tell us and we’ll write to you again!
This has dragged on and on and my mental
Health is suffering.
Should I contact MP or am I being premature?
Thanks

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

One cancellation, especially due to the assessor's sickness, is not usually a reason for a complaint but you need to weigh ip the impact waiting is having on your mental health, you also need to factor in the election and whether your MP has the time and possibly the inclination to help you with less than two weeks to the election.

Thank you Gordon. I have another appointment for 23rd December, home visit again.
The letter does say though that it can only be changed once, I must be home or dwp will stop my DLA. I’m wondering if this is a normal letter or they have taken it as I changed it and not them. All a bit unfair as I was sat waiting for them to arrive

We have seen the Assessment Providers blame the claimant for their assessor not being available but it could also be that they only have one letter for a second appointment
