I have to firstly say thanks for your superb guides & Assistance.
I have been in receipt of DLA a long time for numerous conditions & the dreaded envelope arrived back in October. I have been given a date for my f2f I have to be honest, I e been reading this forum & although I was scared I'm now terrified!!! I currently get low care & high mobility (have a car etc,) but reading people's threads I think I have 0 chance of keeping my car. The descriptors feel impossible to meet.
My friend helped me complete the form explaining I couldn't follow a route or go on an unfamiliar journey without support as even though o have a sat nav I would be extremely nervous, concerned if I had a problem with my heart, & be unable to ask for help. But reading the threads it seems this doesn't matter at all. So wondering just what's the point of a question impossible to qualify for.

Hi Mass

I'm sorry you're going through this. I can't say whether you will still be able to keep your car and I know there are a lot of horror stories of people losing them, but there are also a lot of people who have kept their cars, or found they have received an increased mobility award. One doesn't hear as much about the good stories.

Do have a look at our guide regarding the types of questions you may be asked at the f2f. And when it comes to it, just be ready to explain how your conditions affect your ability to do the PIP criteria.

I did download all the guides & am trying to concentrate on the section relating to the assessment but have to admit I shaking & feel nauseous with anxiety.
It's just the worst!
It's more the how can anyone possibly fulfil the criteria! In the self test I tick all the boxes but reading in more detail how can you possibly describe the impact. I do go out but rarely alone & certainly would never go alone anywhere I didn't know. It be a bag of nerves

I just wanted to reassure you that even if you do lose the car you may still have options available. I have enough PIP points to qualify for a free bus pass and it arrived in the post last week. So now I don't have to worry about parking and paying parking meters. The money I'm saving in petrol can be used for taxi's if I need one.

Well assessment is done I went with my friend & it seemed to go well. Was very short I got the impression she was almost working to a list of things she had to check. So was in there barely 50 mins.
I felt comfortable & she said all seems straight forward enough. & Then explained what happens when I get my award..
So fingers crossed that I'm not being led a little merry dance..

Hi Mass

Glad it is over. If you want to ask for a copy of the assessment report you can request a copy from the DWP in a couple of days time.
