I received a copy of my F2F assessment according to the descriptors I will stay on same level of care and drop from high to low mobility. The report states I had good eye contact throughout I sat crying for most of it and made no eye contact with the assessor. The report says he carried out an examination where my External hip reflection was reduced this would only be assessed had I lay down on a couch in the room this did not happen no examination couch in the room.I could bend down to my knees I wasn't asked to do this standing up. He asked me to touch my knees sitting down. Apparently I am not on a high dose of Anti depressant after checking dosage levels it would appear that I am. I am not on high doses of Analgesia again on checking it would appear that I am. I didn't appear fatigued I'm not sure how this can be assessed by looking at someone it is an overwhelming inner feeling of tiredness. Apparently in the assessors opinion I only showed slightly reduced facial expressions but was tearful during the assessment I was able to complete it alone which seems to have went against me. I wasn't anxious in their opinion although they clearly commented how sweaty my hands were during the assessment when they asked me to break their finger grip test. The assessor stated in the making budgeting decisions section I did not feel I could pay bills due to my low mood therefore my husband dealt with this but in the descriptor 10 I was deemed to be able to manage complex budgeting decisions. Throughout the report the emphasis seems to have been placed on the fact I am not on the highest dose of Anti depressant. Mobility it states I felt anxious when out and could get back home where I felt then better again because my husband didn't come into the room with me during the assessment that deemed me to not be anxious in the assessors opinion. Moving around I can stand and move unaided more than 20 but no more that 50 the assessor worked this out using the how long can you walk for calculation I could walk for 1 minute slow pace then have to stop for 2 minutes. There is no mention of pain but the assessor mentions I walked at a slow pace with an uneven gait. In the section functional history it is commented that I allways feel pain when walking I can walk flow pace for 1 minute stop for 2 then if I was to continue another minute I would struggle due to increasing pain in my legs and back.

I'm a bit confused does the functional history aspect cross referenced when they choose the descriptors on completion of their form?

Not sure what to do next. If I go for a mandatory reconsideration being that I am transitioning from DLA to PIP during that time does the payments cease? How long on average are the Mandatory re considerations taking

My husband who always said surely these reports are very accurate these assessors after all are health care professionals well all I can say now is his attitude and view has completely changed after the discrepancies especially of the extensive examination which allegedly took place. I worked out according to the descriptors I have 9 points for care and 8 for mobility whereby I think it should have been 12 for care and 12 for mobility if the decision maker goes along with the assessors descriptor choices.

There is a small window for you to write to the Decision Maker but you will need to be quick.

Understand that the assessor is offering an opinion when they say that you can do the PIP activities, tackling these head-on is unlikely to be successful, you need to show that the basis of that opinion is founded on incorrect information, so try and refer to your evidence to undermine what they have said.

Also, try and stick to issues that lead to your scoring points, I often hear members referring to the assessors spelling, as an example, whilst it may show a lack of professionalism, raising it as an issue isn't going to help you get an award.

Lastly, make sure that you understand the criteria that you are being assessed against you can put the best case forward that is possible but you won't score points if you do not meet the PIP Descriptors.

Make it clear in your letter that you are not asking for a Mandatory Reconsideration but you reserve the right to do so once the Decision is made.

The Functional History should be considered when the assessor makes their recommendation.

Hi Gordon I thought that walking as the assesor states in his report for a minute having to stop and then wait for 2 minutes and then on recommencing walking I would struggle due to the increased level of pain surely would deem to not be reliably, repeatedly and to an acceptable standard.

Also if I were to go for Manadatory reconsideration does my DLA cease during the process?

When you say I have a small window to write to the assessor how do you suggest I do that? I have a long standing spinal issue that is managed and has been by my GP for years following 2 substantial operations I did produce an MRI which showed changes and Stenosis in my spine for the purpose of the F2F I don't have any other evidence.

The functional history that the assessor has documented actually contradicts what he has put then in the descriptors.

Someone walking at a slow pace would be expected to walk around 48m in a minute but as you say you need to be able to repeat the distance within a reasonable time, I can't say whether two minutes qualifies or not, however, if further walking is restricted because due to pain, then the those assessing you should have considered a shorter distance.

Just write a letter, with your comments in the same order as the PIP activities. If you think that the assessor has contradicted themselves then highlight that to the DM.

Are there any activities that contradict your limitations, for example; do you go shopping at all?

Gordon should I not be mentioning the fact that throughout the report constant mention of the fact I am not on the highest dose of Anti depresssant leads the assessor to presume I function at a level which is acceptable... that NHS guidlines state the dose that I am on is considered 300mg or above to be the highest dose. In the section of current medication and treatment she has put 150mg anti depressant when I am in fact on 150mg twice a day and I produced my medication list with my Pip claim form as confirmation.

Who should I be writing to the report was done 21/11 so 2 weeks ago?

Where it says list all evidence considered alongside the consultation findings There is no mention of the MRI report submitted prior to the assessment which I know had been uploaded as he confirmed it had and also I took a copy with me on the day of the F2F . Nor Pshychiatric reports albeit a report from 2 years ago when I was discharged back to the care of my GP

Address your letter "attention the Decision Maker" or something similar.

You should mention any issues that you believe that has restricted or prevented you from scoring points, so if you think that the comments that about your medication fall under this then include it in your letter but explain why it is relevant to the Descriptors, the DM is not medically trained so you need to lead them to the right conclusion.

Same thing with the evidence that you think may not have been considered.
