Dwp phone call, assessment was created by AJ70
Hi, my work capability form was sent in a week ago with lots of extra information and lots of evidence from professionals saying that interactions and leaving the house is very difficult, that I go without needed treatment because I can't be anywhere public and that interactions make me more suicidal. Today I got a phone call which I didn't answer as I cannot cope and didn't know the number anyway, then received a text message telling me to travel an hour away for an assessment. Surely they cannot have read everything already and why are they ignoring evidence saying I cannot get to a centre... is it normal to get a phone call? If I had answered would I have avoided a face to face?  3 years ago they put me in the support group just from the form.  Thank you

Is there anybody that can speak to Maximus on your behalf about the appointment? They should ask whether the information your supplied has been reviewed, we have seen this happen before.

Thank you Gordon. I can try asking someone to phone them, they also haven't contacted my gp for any information, surely they should have all the info before deciding on whether to do a f2f? Is it usually bad news if they try calling a claiment about their claim?

I'm afraid it is rare for the GP to be contacted the last time I saw statistics for ESA/UC it was at best 6% of claims.

It is possible that Maximus tried to contact you but this would be unusual.

Being invited to a face to face assessment just means that the assessor felt that they do not have enough information to make a recommendation to the DWP.
