DLA to PIP Home Visit was created by Paul
My disabled wife has been on life time DLA higher rate mobility due to being virtually unable to walk which was unanimously found in her favour at a previous tribunal..We submitted 72 pages of evidence of PIP2 forms and have just received notification that CAPITA will carry out a home visit F2F next week. (albeit we had not even asked for a home visit in the submitted forms.)
My wife is already stressing but what I would ask is that does she have to walk around our house if asked by the assessor as she can barely stand up with her crutch let alone force herself to try and walk at a slow pace..She has had full knee replacements and muscle wastage in her legs; all medically evidenced in a detailed GP report submitted with the PIP2 forms indicating her limited mobility..

She can refuse to do any activity that would cause her unreasonable mental or physical harm if she does then she needs to explain why.
Our PIP Claim guide has sections on the assessment and the questions she is likely to be asked.

Appreciate your prompt reply Gordon, your site has been of so much help to me and my wife over the years we have been members and the guides have been of so much help in filling the various forms we have had.. Hope the F2F goes well but on reading so many horror stories we are not holding our breaths..

Hi Gordon, my wife had her 50 minute F2F home assessment this morning, the male nurse CAPITA assessor was pleasant enough although the experience reduced my wife to tears half way through due to the stress of it all..She was not asked to walk at any time although he asked her to stand up from her chair which I had to help her as she could not rise unaided. At the end of the assessment she was told she will need to wait between 6 to 8 weeks for the result from DWP.. Is there anyway to get any sort of indication of the assessors report to the DWP prior to waiting the 8 weeks for the result as the wife is going to be very stressed over Christmas! Thanks for any advice....and good luck to all those people having their F2F`s in the next week, any time is terrible but a week before Christmas!!

You should be able to request a copy of the assessment report at the end of the week by contacting the DWP office dealing with your wife's claim.
