Will I still get pip??? was created by Megan
Hi I have a esa interview tomorrow that I'm very nervous about and I will no doubt receive a pip interview form after that as I have been on pip for a year and three months and I know they like to do both interviews at around the same time. I got pip for mental health reasons when I was on DLA ten years ago it was stopped because I hadn't seen the mental health team in the past year I'm assuming my pip will be stopped for the same reason seen as I was claiming it for mental and not physical health. If so then I wont bother turning up for the interview as I found the last pip incredibly stressful.

Hi Megan
I think you are mistaken in thinking 'they like to do both interviews at around the same time.' PIP and ESA interviews are administered by two different assessment services who do not have contact with each other. If your PIP is due for renewal then yes it will happen soon, but that is merely coincidental not planned. Did you have an end date to your PIP award? You can expect to receive a review form approximately 6months before the end date.
You should not assume that your PIP will be automatically stopped because you have not seen the mental health team. There are plenty of claimants that have been discharged or do not have access to services. Only you can decide whether you want to attend an assessment. Do you have a sympathetic GP who would be willing to write a letter confirming your ongoing difficulties when the time comes?

Hi Megan
As it stands at the moment you probably won't receive a PIP review form until March or April 2020.
