PIP Home visit F2F. Requesting medical report.

Hello

I had my PIP face to face, home assessment with a CAPITA Health Professional on Wednesday morning. I telephoned the DWP today to request a copy of the medical report that the HP was writing throughout the 90 minutes of her visit. i realise that it may well be too soon to request it today, but my request has been logged on my application and should be actioned when the report is ready for the DWP's Decision Maker.

Interestingly, the nice gentleman I spoke to advised me that it was unusual to send out the Health Professional's report before the DWP's Decision Maker has made their own decision, which I understand can take weeks. I will ring again next week and make my request again but thought I would just share my PIP week here on the forum.

Hi Sue

I received a text message from DWP when my PIP report was sent to them by the assessor 2 days after my assessment so hoping they receive yours imminently. I did have to chase mine up again by telephone after a week had passed with it not showing up but was sent within 3 days after second call. Neither DWP employee that I spoke to made any mention of it being unusual to send out the report before a decision. It seems they often have their own versions of procedure that they 'think' to be right.....its anyones guess!

Sue CC I requested a copy of my F2F report 5 working days after my assessment took place. the gentleman that I spoke to on the phone did not question why or say that I was not entitled to it he did however inform me that, the Assessors report is not a clear indication of what if any a level of award might be until the Decision Maker has reviewed all details pertaining to your case which also includes the F2F assessment report

Sue

I rang 5 times in 2 weeks. We got the text to say that the report was in. They did say that they’d add a note to send the report, but I didn’t trust that they would so I called them again. My final call was on Monday & the report arrived on Thursday.

Hello Becky

Thanks for the reply. May I ask, did you send a written request to the DWP as well, or was it just a couple of phone calls only?

Many people seem to have had a negative experience when being assessed. The lady who did my assessment from CAPITA seemed very nice and was patient with me, so I am very interested to know what she has written. Did your assessment report, done by the Medical Professional, support what you had written in your "How your disability affects you"?

Again, thanks for your reply Becky. Now all I need to do is carry on waiting for my ESA application to be assessed.

Sue, it was just a couple of calls as I was unaware at the time that a call is advised to be followed up with a letter, but I will add that the dwp employees I spoke to were polite and 'appeared' to understand my requests. My assessor supported a fair bit of what I had stated in my form as I also had medical evidence to back it up.
