I would have felt that my assessor was quite sympathetic to my situation to be honest. She did tend to ask leading questions and cut me off quite a lot. I am a former social worker and had put a lot of detail into my questionnaire. This was acknowledged in her report. It says however that her assessment does not marry up with the detail supplied by myself. I am expecting to get no points.

Hello Esme
Thanks for your reply. I understand that the DWP Decision Maker, After reviewing all information
Including my f2f assessment will then make their decision. I would just like the opportunity to read the medical report to ensure that what has been written is an accurate account of my f2f. If I understand correctly, if there is anything on the Assessor’s report that I believe to be incorrect, I would then have the opportunity to write to the DWP Decision Maker, before they make their final decision and hopefully avoid the need for a Mandatory Reconsideration.

Thank you for your response Thistlelass. I am slightly worried after reading how your assessor "asked leading questions" As I said, the CAPITA assessor seemed very pleasant, allowed me time to answer her questions and did not cut me off. What she did do though, after asking a question, was offer suggestions on how to answer it. I put this down to her being empathetic for which, I felt very grateful for. So like you I am now waiting, so watch this space x

Sue you have a very short time window to write to the DWP regarding any or what you might think are inaccuracies in the F2F assessment report and to be honest there were many points in mine that were inaccurate and also misleading such as wrongful medication dosages which in turn led I believe the decision maker to come to a decision which did not take into account the severity of my condition. I'm afraid I didn't see the point of writing to the DWP prior to the issuing of the Decision following the F2F. I too had an assessor who offered suggestions as to how I might answer the questions asked of me despite me offering my own answers when the I received a copy of the report it was his suggestions that had been entered as my replies and in the end to my detriment. I hope that in your case it is different but I'm afraid I am rather sceptical of the system.

Well Esme
Received text from DWP today "We've received the written report of your PIP assessment" etc etc. So my small window is now open. I'll be writing and phoning again tomorrow, to make another request for a copy of my written PIP report. To put us on a level playing field, I believe that the report should be sent to not only the DWP but also the applicant without having to resort to numerous phone calls and letters.
Until I receive the CAPITA, health professional's report, I'm trying to think positive thoughts.

Hi Sue I have no issue receiving my report after just one phone call I was however told by the call handler that the report was not a reflection of what award I would receive as the DM could disagree with the report. The only thing the DM disagreed with was the length of review time the assessor suggested 18 months the DM gave on going.. It's all you can do is think positive but Im afraid my dealings with the DWP have led me to be a half empty glass kind of girl. It will be interesting to hear what your thoughts are on your report when you receive it I will keep an eye out for your updates
