I sent pip form back about 8 weeks ago. Phoned DWP this afternoon, advisor said that the form was with the advisory service re waiting to go for assessment. Can DWP access the assessment centres computers for updates? Should I phoned the assessment direct? I was hoping for home visit. Thank you

Yes, you need to contact IAS they are responsible for booking and carrying out PIP assessments.

You will need up to date evidence from your GP or someone similar if you are to have any chance of a home assessment, their letter needs to state in unambiguous terms why you canot attend at IAS's offices.

Gordon,
I phoned IAS re requesting home visit. Thankfully I am on the waiting list for home assessment & don’t need to obtain GP letter. Thank you for your help.

Hi Julie
Good luck with your assessment, if you have not already done so have a quick look at our guides on questions you may be asked (page 78)
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip
There is also a PIP Assessment Guide which was last updated on 17 June 2019. The PIP Assessment Guide is provided to health professionals carrying out PIP medicals.
