We cannot say whether you will have to have a face to face. If you have a supportive doctor you could ask them to write a letter making a request for them to do a paper-based assessment as a face to face assessment would be detrimental to your physical and mental well-being. If you can't get a letter then it will be difficult for you to get a paper-based assessment as they do so few - but you can always request one, laying out the difficulties you are experiencing, especially with the situation with your mother. There is never any guarantee of how the DWP will react to this.

Yes you can record the assessment. If you look at the PIP guide it will tell you how. There are strict criteria to doing so - so you need to familiarise yourself with them.

I cannot say whether you are more likely to get your PIP renewed because you won on appeal.
