PIP Review at 64 was created by Black Dahlia
Pip Review at 64, coming up in March. I get lower rate mobility and higher rste care component
Feeling worried, what can I expect.
I have long term conditions fibromyalgia and pernicious anaemia and Borderline personality disorder. I am feeling sick with anxiety daily and believe the DWP will be seeking to close my Pip claim before I get to pension age at 66.
Can you advise me?

Hi Black Dahlia

First of all, have you looked at our PIP Claim guide?

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip

I am not aware of any concerted effort by the DWP to remove people from claiming benefit entitlements. PIP was engineered to be a more difficult to award than DLA, many DLA claimants will receive vastly reduced awards or even no award at all on transfer.

DLA looks at generic care needs in regard to bodily functions, PIP looks at the claimants specific ability to carry out an activity such as eating.

Follow our guides, if you have any further questions then do get back to us and we will try and answer any questions raised.

Black Dahlia, do you have coping strategies to help with your anxiety? I found keeping a 5-4-3-2-1 anxiety coping technique printout stuck to a kitchen cupboard helpful. Do you have a support network around you?
