and does uc have a support group type catogery for severe ill people, thank you

Hi Lee-d

If you are assessed as having a limited capability for work-related activity (LCWRA) you will not
be asked to look for work, or to prepare for work. This is the equivalent of the ESA
Support Group.

The reassessment process timeframes are the same as for ESA and could be 1, 2 or 3 years.

Hi lee-d

I applied for UC last May and was placed into the limited capability for work-related activity group. I have MS and am sight impaired and have a walking impairment. UC wrote to my GP whereupon she ticked the relevant boxes on their form and added a paragraph detailing my accruing disabilities and I was put straight into that group without the need for a face to face assessment. After telephoning them to enquire as to the length of the award I was told it would be at least 3 years before they would look at my case again. I used the guides on this site to aid my form filling.
