Esa work capability assessment was created by Mikey
I am in my 60s and l have been in receipt of Esa for a number of years.
I managed to find out the date of my next esa assessment and was informed that it would be in December 2019.
I have inquired in the past regarding dates of future assessments and the dates l have been given have always been correctly adhered to. As we are now in January 2020 l am wondering why they haven't been in touch?

Hi Mikey
You have been fortunate that they have always adhered to the dates you were told. That is certainly not the case for many people. If you are worried, you should phone them again and ask for an update. You may well find it is just due to a backlog.

Hi Mikey,
I was told my next assessment would be in December 2019. I phoned them just before Christmas and this time was told there was nothing on the system with a date.
Up to now I have heard nothing and my payments have continued. I think it's more than likely a backlog but am hoping it's been deferred yet again as I was due for reassessment in December 2019 which did not happen. I am 64 next month.
Is anyone aware of any backlogs in particular areas?
Phrank.

My partner's not been assessed since 2012. I thought it was because he got an indefinite award, but not sure after reading that the award length is 3 years max. He wont ring them, & doesn't want me to so I can't be of any help on that score. Just wondered if anyone else is the same?

All ESA awards are indefinite but with scheduled reassessment, exemption from further assessment has only been in place a couple of years, so they have either been reassessed without the need for an ESA50 being issued or it has been deferred.
