Coming off PIP but avoiding sanctions

Hi there

I am considering not renewing my PIP as I find the process shattering and despite having chronic conditions I will likely continue to be perpetually re-assessed. I am also aware that I may be failed for now working (I realise PIP doesn't relate to work but I understand they still fail people who work because it demonstrates ability etc) so I wondered if it's best to not renew at all (and what the punishment for this is) or just not to fight back once I am failed after assessment. Any guidance really appreciated. I am hoping to move into something full time or nearer to full time some time this year to hopefully cover the costs.

Thanks so much (as always!)

Hi J

Only you can decide whether or not to review your PIP. Work does not affect PIP in that it is not a means-tested benefit. You might want to read the information in the link below
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/personal-indep...pendence-payment-pip

If you decide not to renew - there are no sanctions for stopping the benefit, so it up to you whether you want to inform them that you are not going to renew or you decide to put in the renewal form and see what the final outcome is.
