PIP home assessment done was created by melrose
Hello, I went throogh my PIP home asessment yesterday. Asessor seemed friendly but to be honest I know that is all part of the act. I had my carer with me and I recorded the asessment to just really to make sure to keep the asessor honest because I think that by having it recorded, they cannot really tell a load of lies (I hope!).
Anyway, any pysical exam was not done, the asessor said the amount of pain I was in excluded any examination. Thoogh I did not mind because of the pain (tbh the very thoaght of having to move was terifying because I knew how painful it wood be). I also gave any supporting documents whether they had them or not, just to be sure. Results in 6 weeks I was told.
Will the fact that the asessor did not do any pysical exam (at the asessors insistence, I did say I would try if they really wanted me to) count against me? Can they use that to deny my claim?
Apart from that, I will let you know how it went wen I get the results. BTW, a single dual recording machine that costs a fortun is not necesary, t2 identical tape recorders is fine as long as they take standard tapes and you record them at the same time.
PS Sorry for any typo's my carer is typing this.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Melrose
You can ring up the DWP in a couple of days and ask for a copy of the assessors' report should you want to see it before the decision is made.
The fact that you did not have a physical exam should not count against you, especially as it was the assessor who made that decision.
