UC cap for work assessment ill when was created by Malechi
DearAdvisor,

I am fairly new to all this but thanks to your fab guides I think I am doing ok.

I am ill and this illness has caused disability. There is no cure and things will only get worse as the months and weeks pass.

I filled in my 2nd assessment in August 2019 but was then told to forget it by the DWP as they realised that they had sent it 3 months early. Then out of the blue I received a letter from ATOS giving me an appointment at the end of this week.

My mobility has declined since August, so my question is, will the assessor base things on what I said on the form in August or will they sort of update things for January. This is after all almost 6 months ago. How do I make the assessor record how I feel and what I can do now rather than then?

You say that the letter is from ATOS, they no longer do the ESA assessments and haven't for some time, so is this for ESA or is it for PIP?

I would write a short letter explaining how your limitations have changed since August, stick to the same format as the esa50.

If you have an address for an Assessment Centre then send them to this, send a copy to the DWP office dealing with your claim, both with a covering letter explaining what they are. Lastly, take a copy to the assessment and ask the assessor to read them before they start the interview.
