I get pip at the moment on the standard rate for care . This is the first time I have received this as my illness was only diagnosed last year and I was granted this for 2 years . I have now been receiving this for 6 months and wish I had found your site earlier as I found filling in the forms very difficult. I have been told in the last month I now have oesteo peneia ,I don't know if I should reapply as this is something new that was not on my application or should I just be grateful with what I have been given as do not want to lose what I have been given. alexis
You do not have to reapply. You could inform the DWP of a 'change of circumstances'. You must have been experiencing symptoms for at least 3 months and expect to need help for at least another nine months in the future.
You need to look at the PIP criteria and see whether this would substantially change your award - for example - is it yet affecting your mobility. If there would be no change at the current time to your award then there is no need to tell them - but if you think it does - then you need to inform them and it will immediately trigger a review of your claim and a face to face assessment.
