ESA Decision

Hi folks,

Thanks to Gordon and any advice given previously, but a word of caution as a reminder.

In November I went for my annual ESA assessment and the assessor was most unhelpful in that she had no idea about any of the conditions I suffered from. In fact she admiitted she had not read my GP report. Anyway, when she saw my wife taking out supporting paperwork as advised on the literature she asked "what's that for?" to which my wife replied it was further supporting paperwork. Her answer was as blunt as this "I am not interested in any supporting paperwork, I only want to ask you questions" Suffice to say I was upset, as was my wife and my wife insisted that she take it, send it to DWP and also, before submitting her report that she read in full the GP report and also learned about the condition that was being discussed. She abruptly stopped the assessment and thanked us for our time to which we were quite taken a back.

A few short weeks later the decision came in and it remains the same in the ESA Support Group.

The valuable lesson here for me was to ask my GP for a copy of the report that was sent to DWP. Luckily for me it was an excellent report so why the assessment was required is beyond me and my GP said the same also.

Maybe I am preaching to the converted but one to remember.
