hi
my partner went for his pip assessment 2 weeks ago and still waiting descision
part of his claim is for deafness he told assessor he was waiting for appointment for ear clinic and hopefully can get hearing aids
he got appointment last week we ve been to hosp and he is getting hearing aids as hes nearly deaf
my question is should we give this info to dwp now? will it help his claim?
he doesn't want to jeapodise his claim if they've already made descision
many thanks

Hi Debbie

If you want to get a copy of the assessment report you can ring and ask for it.

There is currently nothing for you to tell the DWP. A person is still entitled to PIP even if they have hearing aids. When he has them he will be able to judge what difference they make to him, and if you have the PIP decision you can look to see if that would make any difference to any award he is offered.
