I just got off the phone to PIP to see if they’ve got my mandatory reconsideration request and they had got it a few days ago but not registered it as they had to first make a point in making me aware that by requesting a mandatory reconsideration I would be getting another medical..... she said 100% I would get another medical... and did the CAB inform me when I did my form...
Thing is I never mentioned the CAB at all ever not even on my form and secondly when I asked her about have the policy’s changed she said no they have always existed and everyone gets another medical when they do a MR.... well last one I did when I first went over to PIP I didn’t? I said this and she went to well 90% of people do..
Anyway question is .... is this true about the medicals? She kept asking if I still wanted to go ahead as once I do there is no going back kinda thing... not sure if this is another scare tactic or not?

I have been doing appeals for many years and have never know a MR to trigger a new medical, I have known where a new assessment has triggered a new medical but never a MR.

We have seen the Assessment Provider trying to do a second assessment where a complaint about the report has been made and it has been accepted as being deficient but there is no obligation for the claimant to attend once the Decision has been made.

I do record all my calls with them just incase there is any issues!
