Doctor's Support letters was created by mariababy
My pip renewal form has just arrived. Due in 3rd Match. I have two doctors at my surgery who know me in different ways. I obtained a letter off one of them dated 2nd January 2020. The other gp is away for half term and the only letter I have off him is dated 2nd July 2019. The pip form says that I cannot send letters of support that are older than 2 years. Would his letter of support still be accepted by the DWP? Also, on what grounds can I ask for a 2 week extension for returning the renewal form? Thank you in advance.

You can send letters that are older than two years if you want but you will need to explain why they are still relevant to your conditions and limitations as they are now.

You should be able to get an extension just by saying that you are struggling, due to your conditions, to complete and return it on time.
