DLA to PIP was created by Presgeorge
Hi, i was sent a letter the first week November 2019,asking me to move from DLA to PIP. I telephoned DWP to claim. I then recieved a how your disability affects you form. I then filled in the form and returned it along with a letter from my GP. In early January 2012 i received a letter from Atos saying they were asking my GP for further information and that iit was unlikely i should need a face to face assessment. My Gp phoned me a couple of days later and he informed me he had indeed received a phone call. Today Feb 18 2012 i received another letter from DWP asking for a medical report from my GP. I telephoned DWP and informed them i had already submitted a full medical report and requested they should consult my DLA report from 5 years ago. To my horror they told me they had lost my DLA report from 5 years ago and they only had my recent GP report. Also they had no record of the telephone call from Atos to my GP regarding my claim for DLA to PIP. To cut a long story short my claim is now still with Atos and it has been 14 weeks since my initial claim. Advise please? Thankyou. Mike

Hi Presgeorge

I'm sorry there is little I can say here, apart from you will need to keep chasing to find out what is going on.

Hello Presgeorge

This is probably an obvious question, but do you have a copy of your previous DLA award, including the GP’s letter? Perhaps you could use that one to show continuity of your medical condition/s.

So sorry to say that so far, I have been on the DLA to PIP transitional journey (Treadmill) for 180 Days, over 25 Weeks!!! I live in Cambridgeshire.

Good luck going forward

Sue

Hi Sue, the DWP have acknowledged i have been in receipt of DLA for over 10 years. However they are saying they have lost my medical report from this time period. I have now sent them my most recent doctors report 3 times since November 2019. The DWP are now telling me my case is still with Atos and they are still waiting for further medical evidence.???. I feel like I am going round in circles, but i am determined not to give up. Thanks Mike.

Afternoon George

Am i right in thinking that you didn't make a copy of your DLA application 5 years ago? It's always best to make copies of anything you fill in and send to DWP, as well as returning/posting anything back, with a signed mail service. I send mine back by recorded delivery, using the DWP's, prepaid envelope and paying the extra for the recorded mail service, which also allows you to then track it as well, and if the DWP's envelope is too small, I either tape it to the front of a more suitably sized envelope or write the free post address, if there is one, on a larger envelope.

I'm sorry I cannot be of more help George, but I do hope you're not kept waiting for very much longer.

Best wishes
Sue

Hi Sue,

Can I ask which end of Cambs you are? Asking because I’m P’boro end, and have been on DLA Indefinite since 2007, and today received the dreaded “Claim PIP or get nothing, we’re stopping DLA” letter. Not looking forward to the transition, and if it’s as drawn out as yours, I’ll cope even less well. These applications always cause extreme flare-ups, and tend to paralyse me with anxiety.

(I did try to find a PM facility on here, but couldn’t see it anywhere.)

Thanks,
A
