DLA to PIP Migration was created by Wadsworth
Hi There
Of nearly 18 months of looking for the brown envelope my daughter is currently helping me fill in the form can I ask the Following
1. In the past the I had to go to appeal with DLA and luckily for me about 4 hours before the appointment I was called and advised they had relooked at it changed my DLA so I did not go to appeal.
2. About 4 years later in 2007 for no reason they changed the DLA again in my favour
3.I have been through ESA in 2010 went to appeal won then in 2010 had to fill the paperwork in again got a lovely lady who placed me in the support group.
4. The paperwork for PIP is due back on the 5th March will I be penalised if its sent in early
5.Have you any wait times for f2f in the east midlands
I have a long term illness with various notes from specialist GP etc noting this the last in 2018 states no more can be done I am in constant pain and things will worsen
What is the likely hood of me Having to go to a face to face as I am petrified also I am finding filling the forms in is very debilitating and I have had several angina attacks and had to stop on 2 occasions having to use my angina medication to ease the pain do I put this in writing should they take any notice of this
Regards

Hi Mr. Frog
No, you won't be penalised for sending in your paperwork early. We have no regional waiting times and whatever we quote you, is likely to be inaccurate as we know there have been delays at one of the major DWP sorting offices. After you send your form in you would hope to hear within 4 - 6 weeks. Could be sooner - some have waited longer.
I cannot tell you whether you will have to go for a face to face assessment. The majority of claimants do. You could request a paper-based assessment for the reasons you state above, but you would need a letter from a GP stating that it would cause you 'overwhelming psychological and/or physical distress and could lead to a deterioration in your health.' Even if you get the letter, there is no guarantee they will follow it. Only 3-5% of claims are paper-based. Sometimes the decision is just made by the assessment service to do a paper-based claim without a request, but they are rare.

Mr Frog
You can put the dates in the Extra Information section or as an attached letter, whichever you choose you will need to follow up with the Assessment Provider as the people who do the bookings don't always have access to your forms.

Hi
Will be submitting my pip forms after following your guides on Monday 2nd march but could I just touch base with you about a couple of things what happened over the weekend please
1. In 2016 I had a very bad heart attack and since suffer with angina on Sunday I presume it was with the stress of form filling I kept having angina enough to worry me so saw doctor on Monday told them about pip etc which they agreed was flawed I had to have an ecg bloods and blood pressure
The doctor has increased my heart mediation has she said its stress and my heart needs protecting they also discussed exercise but because a have a Venus malformation tumour in my left side I cannot walk 20 metres with out pain and with crutches this is all in my pip.
but the doctor says I really need to try even if its at snail pace and takes over an hour to walk any distance to help my heart
Do I mention this in my pip report I am very worried because I don't try to walk because of the pain but I am also worried about not trying and having another heart attack. if you think I need to let them know how is best to word it.
2. Also my daughter is my carer and can see I am down and wants to take me to her toddler group to help my mood. I have put in the pip paperwork I don't go out alone at all and would not go to unfamiliar place following your guides etc. will it be ok for me to go
Thanks

We can't tell you what to include in your PIP2 but you do not need to report activities that you are not currently doing, of course, if you do start the walking then you need to consider whether this is something that you then do need to tell the DWP about.
The test is the distance that you can reliably walk on the majority of days, as an example; if it takes you an hour to walk more than 20m then you would not be doing so reliably.
If your daughter is taking you then you are not following a route to a destination so the only question you need to ask yourself is whether you can undertake a journey in the first place? Again, these activities must be done reliably, so going out once does not mean that yu meet the criteria.
