PIP renewal was created by Frank
hello friends
I was "awarded" PIP in Sep 2017 (enhanced mobility, standard living) for 3 years. At the time of my claim i was already on the waiting list for Spinal surgery, now 21/2 years later i am still waiting!! I guess my review is due soon ? i dont have much new evidence , just just comments from another MRI " Your MRI as suspect showed significant wear and tear changes. We will referred you for Surgerons for assessment.
I have seen the Doctor and his report says: On examination today, he walks with a stick (actually my wheelchair was outside his office) MRI scan confirm stenosis at L4/5 and spondylolisthesis at L5/S1 . i explained the option of surgery to him. I have explained to him that surgery will NOT HELP his back pain, BUT HOPEFULLY his leg pain....???????
In this case, i do not want to go ahead with surgery, what is the Point?
My Question, would NOT going ahead with surgery will affect my PIP review ? And; is this new evidence enough support or would it harm my review ? Should i just tick all the same and hope for the best ?
Thank you in advance for helping me

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Frank
I can't advise you want to include or not include in a review. You should not be penalised if you choose not to go ahead with the surgery. The point is you haven't had the surgery and whether you do or not is something for you to decide, you don't have to discuss it on your form. You will have to decide whether or not to include that letter and what you say about it. The letter only says - 'hopefully' and if you include it you would need to emphasise it. But I say you have no surgery booked so your condition will have stayed the same or grown worse and that is what you should reflect on ta review form.
