PIP Success now ESA recall was created by AlexBloomsbury
Just when I was just about beginning to believe that the DWP had really given up on the Appeal and had started to relax, it starts again.
Two days before the date of the (cancelled) Tribunal and 2 weeks after the letter telling me that I’d be retaining the double enhanced status, I’ve had a form for a fresh ESA Assessment. I do realise that this must be a coincidence but the timing has hit me very hard especially since not only am I 5 years older (obviously!) as well as, ironically, even more disabled.
One of the many things that seem bizarre is that one branch of the DWP has unequivocally stated – in some detail -that I’m a physical/mental disaster whilst another is now (re) querying it.
Of course, as they keep parroting, the 2 are different but it does seem utterly illogical that, seemingly, a “finding of fact” for one is irrelevant for another!
Paranoia – IS this a coincidence, has it happened to others?
Do findings by the PIP branch of the DWP have any impact on/can’t be used re the ESA branch? Even though they are different, the overlap re the factual disabilities should be just a little bit relevant?
Picking myself up is going to take a few days but all help/views/input v much appreciated.

Hi Alex
Sorry, this has happened to you. It's unfortunate but very common. We have a new guide which covers the overlap between ESA and PIP and you can find it from the link below (It's the fifth one down)
