PIP TRIBUNAL was created by bombaypotato
I submitted an appeal to the Tribunal in December 2019. On 24 December they sent me a letter saying they had received my submission and that a copy would be passed to the DWP who would then send me a copy of their submission.
Two months later I have heard nothing more.
I had 30 days to make a Mandatory Reconsideration Request and the same to submit an appeal to the Tribunal. If I didn't get those done within the specified time frame I would have to have a good reason for my delay but seems such time constraints are not being placed on the DWP despite.
They are a huge, disfunctional department with thousands of staff and I am a 60 year old bloke with a laptop.
Is it usual that this Tribunal process takes so long and that neither the DWP or the Tribunal, (Sutton in this case), keep you informed?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Bombaypotato
Yes, it is quite common for the system to be this slow. You could ring the Tribunal Service and tell them that you have yet to receive the case papers from the DWP and they will chase them for the bundle.
I'm afraid no one will 'keep you informed'.
I don't know what type of appeal you are going for - but the average waiting time is 42 weeks.

Thanks for your reply. I'm going through a PIP Appeal. I thought it would take a month or two. Oh well, I suppose if it's decided in my favour, nearly a year's backdated payments will be welcome just before Christmas!
I will give Sutton a ring.
