Any advice would be appreciated. My GP surgery is refusing to supply letters to support my PIP appeal. They state that it is the responsibility of DWP to request this info. I'm at my wits end and I need to submit appeal request by 3rd March!
This is your practice not understanding the system. The DWP rarely request information from GPs. Unfortunately, your GP is under no obligation to provide you with a letter. You could if you want to, access your medical notes and then submit what is useful. Obviously you are now very short of time.
I don't know whether the date you are quoting is for a tribunal or the date you need to put in your appeal.
If it is for an appeal - the next question is what type of appeal? If you are going for an oral hearing, then you could put in your appeal and put on it, that you will be sending in further information at a later date. You can do this up two weeks before the tribunal.
However, if you are going to go for a paper-based tribunal you have no idea when it will be held and you really need to provide all the information when you put it on the system.
