distance covered pip was created by wilton
My son was diagnosed with superior canal dehiscence, vertigo and tinnitus 10 years ago but has really deteriorated in the last 6 months. He has had to have the last 4 months off work due to collapsing up to 4 times a day almost every day suffering some minor injuries. He is having tests with a specialist at the moment who is looking into temporal bone surgery.I am easy able to describe what his daily living needs are but how can i describe distance covered when walking when he could collapse after just standing or walking 20 mts-50mts-or 100mts. Saying its variable just leaves it down to assessors opinion as i cannot give an exact distance that he can move safely.

I assume that he has no restriction in his walking distances otherwise.

I think you will struggle to show that he is restricted, your only route is to show that he cannot walk safely, you will need to show that the likelihood of his falling is significant and the risk of injury is high. There's a section in our PIP Claim guide that covers completing the PIP activities safely.
