Moving around - Reliability was created by PBR Street Gang
Hi Guys

If someone has been tested by a local gov approved company
for lets say, a bus pass, and an OT found that during a walk test of
20 metres X (whilst using a walking stick) had problems because;

1 - X became breathless and distressed
2 - Started to sweat
3 - Used a handrail for more support
4 - Very slow pace
5 - Required several 5 second breaks

Conclusions by the OT;
X is unsteady and can't stand unsupported

Overall conclusion by OT
X is Virtually unable to walk

I have the read the guides (Page 63) about reliability
regarding the 30 metre walk example, but I really do need some guidance.. please.

That said and bearing in mind that the walk test was only for 20 metres,
which one of the Moving Around choices would apply?

Many Thanks in advance - Paul

Hi Paul

It sounds like f ( but that depends exactly what is written on the OT report and if you are including it. It could be e, but as the points are the same it really doesn't make any difference. If the person was having to stop every 5 seconds - to rest, they really can't go very far. I can't tell you which to put - that's up to you. You know the person - I don't.
