ESA Medical Assessment Feedback was created by Chris Luff
Just some feedback on my wife's ESA Assessment for general information.
Arrived at the centre to be told that they were running 20 mins late. After 45 mins the assessor came out and we were called through. The young man was very helpful and carried my wife's carrier bag for her. (We were both on two walking sticks).
After the usual preliminary questions, he stated that he would only be looking at one issue of my wife's medical history. My wife has several issues but he was only interested in one small aspect of them.
The whole assessment was devoted to this one aspect. No reference at all to anything else.
During the preliminary questions he asked how we had traveled there. As the nearest car park was some distance away and bus stops non-existent, we had traveled by taxi. He said that if we had receipts that they would reimburse us. Not expecting to be reimbursed we had not asked for a receipt. He said, "Drop them in tomorrow and we will send a cheque out."
We dropped the receipts off and the cheque arrived this morning.
Not the assessment we were expecting.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Jedcris
It is unusual but it does sometimes happen that they only want to clarify one or two things during the assessment. I heard of another person only last week that this happened to.

Just to update on this.
Letter received today saying that she will continue to receive ESA and remains in the support group.
Also says that she will not have any further assessments unless her condition changes.

Hi Jedcris
That is really good to hear (especially about no more assessments).
