Assessment report . was created by Julie60
Received copy of my report.
Cooking etc : Although I report vertigo this is due to a side effect on operations in my ear. I report during the attacks in last for 45mins to 1 hour 4 times per day. This is not for the majority of the day no report of losing consciousness. I reported that I have burned myself and put a tea towel on fire. Surely this is a safety issue. I don’t have any warning.
My new report from my consultant that I am quite incapacitated as any sudden movement can lead to severe dizziness attack. She is not able to carry out household chores as these can happen at any time.
Bathing: Although pip2 notes dizziness & FH reports husband showers this is inconsistent. This is not for the majority of time & has never loss consciousness. You can see that my consultant has stated that I can have attack at anytime it is quit a debilitating condition but I am managing with the help of my family. Do you think this new report will help.
I hope it is okay to come back on the sight with some more question regarding other activities.
Unfortunately the letter from my consultant arrived the day after my assessment.
I am not well just now and this is not helping.
I can’t thank you enough

There is a small window for you to write to the Decision Maker but you will need to be quick, you can send the new report but explain what it is.

Understand that the assessor is offering an opinion when they say that you can do the PIP activities, tackling these head-on is unlikely to be successful, you need to show that the basis of that opinion is founded on incorrect information, so try and refer to your evidence to undermine what they have said.

Also, try and stick to issues that lead to your scoring points, I often hear members referring to the assessors spelling, as an example, whilst it may show a lack of professionalism, raising it as an issue isn't going to help you get an award.

Lastly, make sure that you understand the criteria that you are being assessed against you can put the best case forward that is possible but you won't score points if you do not meet the PIP Descriptors.

Make sure that your letter makes it clear that you are not requesting a Mandatory Reconsideration but you reserve the right to do so once a Decision has been made.
