First PIP Form. Transfer from DLA to PIP was created by daisy37
My husband is Appointee for our adult son. He has finally received the letter for transfer from DLA to PIP.
In the past we have always extended the comment boxes by sticking a larger piece of paper on and folding it up.
We have also referred to relevant sections in documents by saying for example:-
See document x highlighted in yellow, orange etc.
We now see that forms are scanned at a central point.
We know we won’t be able to use the “sticking paper” system.
I wondered if anybody knew whether the sheets were scanned in colour or not and whether highlighters would show up with their system?
Obviously we will have to think of another method of pointing to the relevant section if that is the case.
Any advice on this would be every much appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi daisy37
It is perfectly OK for you to type your answers and attach them as extra pages to the form, just make sure that each page has your son's full name and NIN at the top and that they are numbered, we recommend "page X of Y" so that it is easy to see if pages are missing. Make sure you clearly mark on the form where your answers are and on the relevant page that you are answering question X.
I would not split your answers across the form and attached pages, do one or the other for each activity (not question), splitting it risks the second part of your answer not being read.
Attach the pages to the back of the form using a staple or make a hole in the top left corner and use a treasury tag, string or ribbon to the form. The pages need to be easily detached so that they can be scanned by the DWP.
As to your question 'if anybody knew whether the sheets were scanned in colour or not and whether highlighters would show up with their system' I personally do not know, whenever we receive bundle of documents from DWP they are always in black and white (tan depending on the paper colour).
